ABOUT UDON

I didn’t become a photographer because I loved cameras.
I became one because I was drawn to people—especially children.

They notice what we forget to see.
Light on the floor.
A small insect in the grass.
Running without a reason.

Everything feels slower, softer, more honest beside them.

That’s why I keep returning.

Photography came into my life almost by accident after working in animation and joining a studio following my master’s degree.

Over time, it became something I couldn’t step away from.

Not because of photography itself—
but because of what it allows me to see.

I’ve been invited into more than 3,000 family stories.

What stays with me are never the perfect frames.

But the in-between moments:

messy hair,
unfinished laughter,
quiet touch,
ordinary afternoons becoming memory.

Today, Udon Studio has grown beyond in-home documentaries, outdoor sessions, and destination stories. We now bring our way of seeing to weddings, pets, and commercial brands, while sharing our craft through dedicated photography courses.

Based between Melbourne and Sydney, we work with families across Australia and beyond.

I don’t try to create moments.
I notice the ones already there.

Because life doesn’t need to be perfect to be worth remembering.

As the studio has grown, so has the team.

One of the people who shares this approach most closely is Kun.

Based in Sydney, she leads many of our sessions there.

Her presence is calm and intuitive—she has a natural way of helping families feel comfortable without effort or direction.

We don’t work the same way, but we see the same thing:

Photographs are not made.
They are noticed.

A CHILD’S WORLD

Children remind us how to see again.

To slow down.
To stay present.
To notice more.

And sometimes, they understand life more clearly than we do.

Life is happening now.
Not later.
Now.
